Volunteering at the Johnson County Soil and Water Conservation District is a great way to help your community and your earth.
A variety of volunteer opportunities available. No matter your interests or abilities, if you care about our soil and water quality we can use your help.

Water Monitor
- Perform water quality monitoring tests
- Coordinate with other volunteer groups in the county to work toward a snapshot. Must be IOWATER trained or soon to be certified
GIS Mapping Specialist
- Have experience with managing GIS database's or GPS systems? Help JCSWCD by collecting data, doing research, manage and maintain newly created or existing databases
Education and Outreach Coordinator
- We are looking for an individual that has education and outreach experience to promote our services and mission. Put together education materials, give presentations to school groups, FFA's, non-profits, hobby groups, homeowner associations. Attend conferences and be able to stand at a booth and provide excellent customer service. This position would be volunteer, and hours would vary based on the coordinators involvement of activities.
Grant Specialist
